There’s a funny story to this particular resolution. It was created in early December of 2008 when I promised myself to purchase a new laptop because my 3-and-a-half year old Toshiba was slow as shit and doing everything to keep me from throwing it out the window. I’d started a new job as an assistant editor to two automotive trade magazines in December and rather than waiting for my first paycheck I purchased a new laptop on my credit card as an early birthday gift (Dec. 7).This HP laptop is great. It loads in less than two minutes and doesn’t randomly drop my internet connect at will. Since it was purchased in December and not in 2009, it’s technically not a ‘new year’ resolution but since it saves me a heck of a lot of time and frustration I’ll let this one .
