Thanks to the multiple drive-by-wire technology, Nisan eliminated the need for mechanical links between cabin and chassis and enabled designers to create the unique pivoting passenger compartment (hence the name "Pivo"), that gives the driver the ability to park while always looking forward.
Because the platform has a longitudinally symmetrical design, the driver’s perception of the car’s corners does not change even when the cabin is rotated through 180 degrees. In addition to this, the drive-by-wire systems can help reduce the vehicle weight and the number of mechanical parts, by replacing mechanical linkages with electronic signals.

It's called the City Car, and the key to the concept lies in the design of its wheels. Dreamers have been reinventing the wheel since the days of cave dwellers. But the work underway in "the Cube," the Media Lab's basement studio, may be the most ambitious remake yet.The MIT team has transformed the lowly wheel into a sophisticated robotic drive system that will power the City Car. Embedded in each of its four wheels will be an electric motor, steering and braking mechanisms, suspension, and digital controls, all integrated into sealed units that can be snapped on and off.And under the hood . . . well, there won't be a hood on the City Car. Just an eggshell-shaped glass plate -- part roof, part windshield -- framing the modular cabin and stretching almost to the chassis.

High Resolution Laptop

There’s a funny story to this particular resolution. It was created in early December of 2008 when I promised myself to purchase a new laptop because my 3-and-a-half year old Toshiba was slow as shit and doing everything to keep me from throwing it out the window. I’d started a new job as an assistant editor to two automotive trade magazines in December and rather than waiting for my first paycheck I purchased a new laptop on my credit card as an early birthday gift (Dec. 7).This HP laptop is great. It loads in less than two minutes and doesn’t randomly drop my internet connect at will. Since it was purchased in December and not in 2009, it’s technically not a ‘new year’ resolution but since it saves me a heck of a lot of time and frustration I’ll let this one .

Solar Charging

After initially looking at portable USB power supplies to charge the various devices, I came across solar charged power packs, for a decent price.
Each of the above devices (apart from the 50d) can recharge off regular USB power, which can be provided by a portable USB supply, or a solar charged battery. The 50d could also be possibly be charged this way with a small voltage step-up circuit, as 8.4volts is required, rather than 5v/USB power.
The devotec and solio both charge to full in 6-12 hours depending on sunlight whereas the Freeloader can charge in under 4hours (also due to a lower capacity battery). I decided on the devotec due to price and battery life.

Zen Vision W 60gb

This will be used as an extra backup device for storing/copying photos. With a built in CF card slot it can copy photos directly off a CF card (including RAWs). Although, with the cost of CF cards, this will nearly be defunct. (Two 16gb cards, one 4gb, one 2gb and one 1gb card will be taken).
This probably won’t need to be recharged, but if it does need to be recharged, in the case of music/video, it will be the most effort of all the devices to charge

iPhone of Home Phones Coming Next Year

It may look like an iPhone, but it’s actually a home phone/information center that’s meant to sit on your coffee table, phone table or kitchen counter.
IP telephony company OpenPeaks iPhone clone for homes is production ready, says Amy Mikolasy, OpenPeak’s director of partner marketing, and could be in the market by the first quarter of 2009.
Florida-based OpenPeak has been working on the slick IP media phone, called OpenFrame, for about a year and a half now. “We have done the end-to-end product design, from hardware to software and the device management system,” says Mikolasy.
The phone has been designed as an interactive information and communication center for the family. “It is meant to replace the home phone, which has been left behind by technology,” she says.
OpenFrame owes much to Apple’s iPhone — not just its design, but the whole ecosystem of services surrounding it.
The phone will be manufactured by Open Peak but is likely to be distributed by telecom service providers. Meanwhile, third party software developers can create applications for it, much as they can with the iPhone

This is a Vintage Fender Precision Bass Guitar. The guitar is 100% Original and Comes with the original case. The guitar plays amazing and was set up professionally. The action and intonation are set and plays like butter.
The Bass has the natural finish and is in very nice condition. There is a bit of checking and buckle rash on the back. But has a beautiful eye appeal. Nice wood figuring. and has the maple neck. Second-gen Flip Ultra Camcoder

JVC Everio GZ-HD300 Camcorder

This year, JVC is focusing more on mid-range HD models than other manufacturers. While Sony, Panasonic, and Canon all introduced new top-of-the-line products, JVC spent most of its marketing attention on the Everio GZ-HD300 and GZ-HD320 . The demand for affordable high definition video is on the rise and the GZ-HD300 seems to be JVC's answer. It's incredibly compact and easy to use, but lacks all the bells and whistles of the competition. In the testing labs, the HD300 outperformed the competition in some areas, but fell behind in others.

Fujifilm's 20 megapixels

We first caught sight of Fujifilm's medium format back tucked away and behind glass at the PMA show earlier this year, but at the time there was no specific information available. Nine months later Fujifilm has now officially announced the 'DBP for GX680' medium format digital back. This digital back features a 52 x 37 mm SuperCCD sensor with 20.68 million effective pixels producing a maximum output image of 41.36 million pixels (7648 x 5408). This digital back is designed for use with Fujifilm's GX680 series of medium format cameras (up to 6 x 8 cm film). The back has selectable sensitivity of ISO 50, 100, 160 and 200, a 1.8" TFT LCD monitor, can shoot one frame every 1.5 seconds and stores images on Compact Flash The back is due to go on sale at the end of January 2004

Expensive laptop

In 1982 GriD Systems released the Compass 1100 laptop. Even this cost pales in comparison to the reports of a costly laptop that luxury manufacturer Luvaglio London is set to release in the near future by special order the most expensive laptop ever sold, with a price tag of a million dollars.

As of now all of the details are very sparse and the technical specifications have not been made fully available. We aren’t even sure what this laptop is made with to give it a cost of millions but the exterior looks impressive. You can bet with a price this excessive, the expensive laptop will be a spectacle of precious metals and materials and include more than a couple gemstones.

Samsung 30-inch DisplayPort unveiled - High resolution LCD TV

Samsung unveiled the first 30-inch LCD TV that support a resolution of 2560 x 1600 by using its new technology called DisplayPort video interface. By providing data transfer at 10.8Gbps, the DisplayPort doubled the speed of DVI which transmit data at 1.65Gbps each lane.

DisplayPort interface could potentially be a replacement for DVI and LVDS. Samsung claimed that the color smear would not occur despite the high speed data transmission and capable of displaying 1.07bn colors.
The screen features fast 6ms response time and a viewing angle of 180 degrees with 300cd/m2 brightness. Samsung plans to sell DisplayPort equipped LCD TV in 2008 starting with the 30-inch model.
